In daily use it would seem. Would have rusted away anywhere other than southern Italy

I remember there was someone near where my dad lived that had a rust red Fiat Brava (the 131's name in the US market) and they clearly used it as a daily driver for more than 10 years. I was always fascinated with it.

Yes, common thinking in Italy. The original Fiat Panda, made until 2003, is still one of the most common cars there. France (at least outside Paris) is the same with the 1990s Peugeot 205 still absolutely everywhere

Interestingly, Fiat recycled the Brava name twice, kind of.

This one, which was a Bravo (three door) and Brava (five door):

A few. They’re nowhere near as common as the 205, but then it’s an older design.

The 2CV is still almost a daily sight.
